Ayutthaya Ruins, Ayutthaya

(4.5/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
Explore the remains of ornate prang (spires), giants Buddhas, and sprawling palaces and temples at Ayutthaya Ruins, once the gleaming capital of Siam. The Burmese sacked the city in 1767, but the crumbling ruins still hold an Ozymandian majesty. To best prioritize the many sites that make up the vast historical park, and to learn more about the city's history, take a guided tour. On the other hand, you can find many smaller hidden gems--neglected by most tourists--by sightseeing independently. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to Ayutthaya Ruins and many more Ayutthaya attractions: make an itinerary online using Inspirock's Ayutthaya trip itinerary maker.

  • It was a very warm day and we decided to do a leisurely walking tour with a guide late in the afternoon when it had cooled. Listening to her commentary on the remains of the palace, towers and monaste...  more »
  • Beautiful place with wonderful Lakes, temples, gardens and ruins are worth to visit, hour and a half from bangkok by train, the train is very picturesque, and costs 70bht and back, arriving at Ayutthaya can do the excursion by tuktuk is best, you think by 300bht time a tuktuk for up to 8 people, if you are a group you get good price (negotiate it that you lower the cost per hour) If you only go or as couple try to make a group with other tourists)
