Ayutthaya Historical Park, Ayutthaya

4.6
Discover Thailand's rich and compelling history at Ayutthaya Historical Park, a settlement founded in 1350. The second Siamese capital, it was ransacked by the Burmese in the 18th century, yet its ruins still offer a fascinating glimpse into Asian architecture of the period, town life, and spirituality. Now a World Heritage Site, the city retains an abundance of treasured buildings, statues, and surrounding scenery. Admire the delicacy of the design and its resilience to the forces of nature and society. Remember to bring your camera, and note that crowds peak at midday. • Visited this place a half day. This interesting Historical Park is magnificent. Cannot be described with words, must be seen in the real world. Were well prepared and have plenty of time, preferably a few days if you want to see everything.

  • We visited the ruins in bike with a great guide! Ideal and suitable for children. We had a great time in the middle of these wonderful relics of the past which have marked the history of the Thailand! I highly recommend this tour!

  • This place is huge. Lots of tourist too. You might spend quite a time if you want to walk around all the place. Great location to take photo especially during sunset
  • One of the best archeological parks I have visited. Partly restored but retaining an air of decay and authenticity. The best way to explore it is by bike. After visiting the many khmer and Siamese temples, you can relax by riding an elephant and or by visiting a traditional Thai house and the local market, both located in the park. Beware of the many stray dogs patrolling the area, especially in the low season.
  • Perfect day trip away from Bangkok. Arrived by train, rented bicycles and explored the ancient town. Fun day out!
  • Beautiful historical park with lots of old buildings. I recommend renting a bicycle to get around because it's a big area if you want to see everything. Also walking around the park at sunset is really beautiful.
  • If you love history and architecture, this is the right place for you. Take your time and explore the ruined temple but the careful of unstable structures. The fee is 50 Baht, ideal time to come is early in the morning or in the evening. Can take up to 2 hours to explore this place and you won't notice how fast the time flies. Do bring drinking water and umbrella.
