Landmark Tourist Spot
Discover Thailand's rich and compelling history at Ayutthaya Historical Park, a settlement founded in 1350. The second Siamese capital, it was ransacked by the Burmese in the 18th century, yet its ruins still offer a fascinating glimpse into Asian architecture of the period, town life, and spirituality. Now a World Heritage Site, the city retains an abundance of treasured buildings, statues, and surrounding scenery. Admire the delicacy of the design and its resilience to the forces of nature and society. Remember to bring your camera, and note that crowds peak at midday. Ayutthaya Historical Park is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Ayutthaya Edition.

  • Beautiful historical park with lots of old buildings. I recommend renting a bicycle to get around because it's a big area if you want to see everything. Also walking around the park at sunset is really beautiful.
  • If you love history and architecture, this is the right place for you. Take your time and explore the ruined temple but the careful of unstable structures. The fee is 50 Baht, ideal time to come is early in the morning or in the evening. Can take up to 2 hours to explore this place and you won't notice how fast the time flies. Do bring drinking water and umbrella.
  • Impressively beautiful. The ruins and the sound of birds chirping really made me feel that we are not living in the 21st century.
  • Nice temples and ruins, although not really well kept. Also, the surrounding area is nowhere as nice, which takes away a bit of the ambience. Recommended to go on a cloudy day, as it gets really hot there to walk around
  • Great history here. Good amount of ruins still standing and models just outside to see what it originally looked like. A small market is located just outside that sells many local fish products poplar with the Thai as well as Thai "cotton candy" which is wrapped in a thin crepe-like tortilla and is very delicious.
