Ayuthaya Ruins, Ayutthaya
(4.5/5 based on 900+ reviews on the web)
Explore the remains of ornate prang (spires), giants Buddhas, and sprawling palaces and temples at Ayuthaya Ruins, once the gleaming capital of Siam. The Burmese sacked the city in 1767, but the crumbling ruins still hold an Ozymandian majesty. To best prioritize the many sites that make up the vast historical park, and to learn more about the city's history, take a guided tour. On the other hand, you can find many smaller hidden gems--neglected by most tourists--by sightseeing independently. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to Ayuthaya Ruins and many more Ayutthaya attractions: make an itinerary online using Inspirock's Ayutthaya trip itinerary maker.

  • Ayuthaya is a city not to be missed for those who go to Thailand. Is 1 hour from Bangkoc. As are many ruins to visit, it is necessary to reserve the whole day. We took a van in the morning and return in the afternoon. The train is very cheap, but it is very old and without any comfort. But the people back to Ayuthaya so enchanted with everything what you saw during the day, which doesn't even bother with dirt and with the absence of air conditioning in the train. Go to Thailand and not meet Ayuthaya, no way!
