Nopparat Thara Beach, Ao Nang

(950+ reviews on the web)
Beach
Take a stroll along Nopparat Thara Beach, where you can dip your toes in the shallow water or picnic in the shade of coconut trees. Locals know the beach as Klong Haeng, or Dry River, because the water retreats pretty far at low tide, allowing you to walk all the way to the small islets that sit offshore. Though the beach attracts smaller and more diverse crowds than nearby Ao Nang, you will still find plenty of places to stop for a cool drink or a bite to eat. Arrange to visit Nopparat Thara Beach and other attractions in Krabi Town using our Krabi Town tourist route planner.

  • We started walking on the beach at about 5.20pm and it was really low tide. We were able to see many tiny crabs, snails and sea shells. It was really an enjoyable to spend time on the beach discoverin...  more »
  • We were dropped off here by mistake on our way back from Railey Beach. This beach is very secluded during the day. Many restaurants have their beach side seating here. The tide was low when we reached...  more »
  • When we came here, oddly Ao Nang beach was having high tide but Noppharathara beach was having low tide. The beach looked murky, muddy and not very clean. Skip as there are better beaches nearby.  more »

  • Just about an ok beach. Not particularly great. But definitely better than Ao Nang in terms of enjoying the natural beauty.
  • Quieter than Ao Nang beach, but it's rather narrow in parts and (probably cos there's less resorts) not 'maintained'. Meaning there's lots of leaves, coconuts shells, plant life & driftwood; which is groovy. But, not surprisingly these days, lots of washed up plastic bottles, cans, fast food containers etc. Which is not so groovy... Nicest part is up at the end closest to Nopparat Thara Pier... u can walk over to some islands at low tide...
  • In love with the beach scenery.. Less crowded.. Peaceful..
  • A small town full of travel business and a good transfer site to other view point . When sunset, although smell not good at the beach, It is still some glamourous.
  • Lovely place. Wish to go to Phi Phi, 4 island or Railway..you get boats booked from here
