Nopparat Thara Beach, Ao Nang

Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Inspirock Rating:
3.3/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web
Take a stroll along Nopparat Thara Beach, where you can dip your toes in the shallow water or picnic in the shade of coconut trees. Locals know the beach as Klong Haeng, or Dry River, because the water retreats pretty far at low tide, allowing you to walk all the way to the small islets that sit offshore. Though the beach attracts smaller and more diverse crowds than nearby Ao Nang, you will still find plenty of places to stop for a cool drink or a bite to eat. • Lovely beach and it stretches for miles. Lovely and peaceful - space for everyone and does not get overcrowded. Amazing views
  • Emerald sea, but did not have a lot of good people to walk the beach or after a meal from across the Jetty while listening to the sound of waves relax sitting on goodie

  • Beautiful beach, worth the effort to walk to from ao nang, or be lazy and get tuk tuk, tide comes in quick so be careful when exploring, the sand is flat and the swimming is clear and warm, plenty of ...  read more »
  • My 5-star vote is for the following: There is a small Tiki bar on the beach called The Frog Beach Bar, just in the area of Holiday Inn. The bar serves traditional Thai food with incredible cocktails. The best moment to arrive is around 4-5pm to watch the incredible and best sunset of Nopparat Thara Beach, listen to old reggae music while enjoying your moment or talking with the owner. The beach is less busy and less touristic.
  • You can enjoy here lovely sunsets and long walks during the long low tide. The beach is really long and less crowded than Ao Nang, but it is not so clean (Ao Nang also). Generally for me thanks to previous experience the water and beach were not great (not a good sand and water is muddy not crystal clear as for example near Phuket or on Koh Phi Phi). Good for two nights stay and then leave :-)
  • Less busy than Ao Nang, lots of places to eat, shop etc. The beach is lovely for a morning or evening stroll, sunsets are amazing and everything is relatively clean compared to places like Phuket. Lots of tiny crabs in the beach in the evening leaving beautiful patterns on the sand. There are some reviews by others that say the place is dirty, rocky, water is not clean etc, however I found the beach ti be quite pleasant. Its not quite Phra Nang or Railey beach but its still beautiful
  • Nice long beach. Not as clear as Railay. Low tide during full moon allows walking to the nearby islands. Camp site available.
  • This is a beautiful long beach, excellent for a long walk, with many bars and shops to stop at to cool down. Not the best though for sunbathing but still beautiful.
