  • The market impresses with its authentic representation here is one little tourists and even the old principle of these markets women sell fruit from their boats and prepare food to. It is worthwhile in any case this market to visit also 200 bath can make a ride on a boat which takes 45 min and past results on the sugar plantations in here looks to then also the processes of the crops and the production of Palm sugar very interesting.

  • The market is very beautiful and yet so how one imagines a market here old women sell snacks from their boats cooked and a seasonal fruit ride with a boat costs per boat for 45 min. 200 bath What is very worthwhile one coming from a Palm sugar plantation past where to look to in the production. • This floating market is not touristy at all. It is smaller, quieter, and more authentic i feel. The boats were full of produce and some of the vendors were actually cooking on the boats. Local people ...  more »

  • Best floating market around. Great food and atmosphere. Better than the tourist attractions nearby.
  • Very nice calm fkoating market with good fruits. Small and away from tourists traps.
  • Same story as most. Taxi took us there where they were asking for 4000 baht each. We assumed we wouldn't pay anything to visit a floating market. We didn't have that much in cash but were stupid and intimidated so agreed. Then I realized how much this was in our own money. I said to the taxi driver I wanted to go home and he looked dismayed, we'd paid 2500 and I said I want my money back and to return to my hotel (an hour and a half away!). The woman then showed us part of the ticket that said no refund, she dropped the price to 4000 baht for 2 of us when I still wanted to go back to the hotel. Had to endure the trip which was mainly awkward as you stop at stalls to buy cheap looking tat. A bit sad because it's ruined the whole morning. Would not recommend.
  • Tons and tons of stuff as well as tons of people. Difficult to walk without ramming into someone
  • Spicy noodles and lycée by the grocery bags is why I come here. It was unique.

Where to stay in Amphawa

The small canalside village of Amphawa has a number of guesthouses in quaint, wooden buildings, and some hotels and resorts. As it gradually develops, new midrange accommodations pop up here and there. Consider arranging your stay in Amphawa for weekdays, as you'll likely be one of the only tourists here--lower room prices and lots of availability mean it's easy to book on the fly. Be aware that the weekends bring in a lot of tourism; prices will be inflated, and many places fully booked, so reserve ahead.
