A natural wonder and World Heritage Site, Ngorongoro Crater provides an oasis of life for a vast population of indigenous wildlife and the nomadic Maasai tribe. The rich terrain of this huge volcanic crater stretches some 260 sq km (100 sq mi) within a protected conservation area, ranking as one of the largest inactive calderas in the world. See endless vistas and the densely populated highlands of the crater, and observe wildebeest, zebras, and one of the largest known populations of Maasai lions. • Ngorongoro crater was the last playground of our 6 days safari after Taranguire, Lake Manyara & Serengeti National Parks. Again, this place was stunning, with unique landscapes. The nature was again c...  more »
  • From the road you have a wonderful view of the crater. That there are so many wild downstairs, you see if you go down. With an open jeep go you between all kinds of wild animals. We were about 2 metres away from the Lions. Very impressive. Although most animals from the crater, can they stay down. Elephants, rhinos, wild boars, wild asses, zebras, hyenas and various species of birds you can spot up close. The toilets are dirty, but this is a little something. Be on your guard if you are going to eat at the ' picnic area ', because the birds of prey are very brutal.

  • The sword, another dream like Sirengeti. I vmdel many view points but it's eclipsed all 1260 square kilometers of the crater of the volcano I plunged into shock. Thanks to Tanzania that have kept this miracle! I think I would be returning here sloth.

  • Just one of the most magical places on this earth, and a must see. Yes its awesome if you can afford one of the hotels on the edge over looking it, but there are plenty of good and cheap hotels in the towns surrounding it.
  • The road towards it is long and can take its toll but this is one of those places that is well worth the visit. Once in the crater you'll see vast amounts of wild animals wandering its plains. Not much luck is necessary to see lions, hyenas, buffaloes and a lot of small wild.
  • An Oasis created by God to hold an amazing array of animals in such a small area. The ride down into the caldera and back up the steep sides makes it more of an adventure. A must to visit preferably with an overnight stay to get the sunset and sunrise.
  • Don’t miss going into the crater. Every kind of animal you can think of. Trip of a lifetime to safari into the park crater. See it while it’s still there
  • An awe inspiring place that is a once in a lifetime must. The wildlife inside the crater is vast and it was amazing to see this diversity altogether.
