  • I visited this place on my last day in Arusha, I wonder why I hadn't thought of going there sooner. It's great to walk around and see all the beautiful art on display. You'll definitely leave in awe!  more »
  • This center is a wealth of beautiful artwork, craftsmanship, and artifacts! I can see why other reviews said they spent hours wandering through the many galleries here. We stopped here on our way...  more »
  • This place has absolutely everything you could ever want to buy in Tanzania. If I'd know, I'd waited until I was there at the end to get what I wanted.  more »

  • Great place to buy some art and souvenirs. The building is shaped as a shield and sword in its design to symbolise the heritage of the Masai people. Most of the art is individually made from one single ebony wood tree which adds to the immense detail and effort they consist of. There are some statues outside the building allowing photos to be taken. You may also enjoy a refreshing beverage at the cafe. Ask for a mango and banana shake, it was amazing!
  • Fantastic place for tourists. The entry to gallery is free and there are lots of souvenir shops too. Inside the gallery, you find African heritage, beautiful arts, woooden sculpture, masks, etc. It is possible to buy some arts too.
  • Both a museum and a place that has a huge variety of native artwork, carvings, jewelry etc. for sale. Very knowledgeable staff puts the pieces in context. A must see if you're in Arusha.
  • The art gallery is phenomenal, so many different types of art. Food is a little pricey but good quality. Lots of curios at tourist prices
  • They have everything here that you would want to purchase. So much better than the Maasai Market in downtown Arusha. No negotiating except in one area for art. A huge collection of hand crafted wood, low end jewelry, and very nice jewelry. Very good prices on tanzanite. Very helpful staff. A nice looking cafe, but I didn't eat there so can't comment on that.
