  • Summer is better, you can come for a picnic soak in the cool landscape, the charming waterfall is very strong, from the car stop to the waterfall road is not remote, but also very suitable for the elderly and children

  • Our driver highly recommended this place and I thanked him for that! It's really a beautiful place with great scenery. As it was wet, I'm glad we have someone to helped us getting in and out of the wa...  more »
  • There is a car directly to the entrance to the scenic area at the Reef Creek train station, about 30 minutes from the gate to the 3rd waterfall, most of which are the stairs, it will not be too hard for people who do not exercise, and when they reach the 2nd waterfall There is a staircase leading to the Holy Land, where the Holy Mother Church and the Reef Creek are seen, but pay attention to the waterfall. , the first waterfall does not open on rainy days!

  • Had a wonderful experience. Unpredictable weather over here but, the waterfalls is best during any kind of weather. Water here is jumping from almost 50 meters height. Lots of hot springs hotels and spas on the way. 3kms from Jiaosi station and very frequent buses from/to Taipei. Good place for relaxation.
  • Not too far. About 10 mins to the waterfall. Steps up are not steep either.
  • It was a bummer that the walkway to 2nd and 3rd tier of the waterfall is blocked (for safety reasons). I'd recommend making a short detour to the church to have a beautiful 360 view of the area!
  • Incredible! Hike up was easy. Unfortunately the top level was closed due to the previous typhoon.
  • A nice walk but nothing that special

Where to stay in Yilan County

The city center next to the main train station has a number of long-established hotels, with some particularly luxurious options including spas naturally heated from local hot springs. Some budget-friendly options, such as guesthouses and hostels, sit in this densely populated and very developed area, usually along side streets. Look to the south across the river for a good mix of different accommodations in the county townships, and to the hot springs park north of the main city center, where hotels--both luxurious and basic--boast onsite spas using the geothermal waters.
