FengJia Night Market, Xitun

4.1
Considered one of the Taiwan's largest markets, FengJia Night Market offers an abundance of restaurants, clothing stores, food and drink stands, and an overall glimpse of the city's nightlife. Established back in 1963 along with the nearby Feng Chia University, the market attracted many businesses and stimulated such economic growth that the city took it over in 2006 to abolish unlicensed operations. Explore the roads decorated with neon lights and paper lanterns, and afterwards rest in one of local bars packed with students and business workers. Beyond the local cuisine, restaurants here offer a variety of inexpensive dishes from all over the world. Take extra care of your personal belongings when strolling through the crowd. Make FengJia Night Market a centerpiece of your Taichung vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Taichung day trip website .

  • Night market is a lot of people, after dinner to find a little heart, the cake that was happy to eat is still delicious, good like here, but unfortunately there will not be too many, to be sure to grasp

  • This market was one of the highlights of my being an exchange student at Feng Chia University. It’s a very large night market near the university with lots of fun shopping. Whether you’re looking for meals, snacks, clothes, etc., you can find what you’re looking for here. The market has some great deals on electronics and clothes. I also liked that part of the night market had larger well known stores like Nike and Net. If you come to Taichung, this will open your eyes to the night market scene and take up a good amount of your time. The food is great in this area. Be sure to try Black Box for some delicious meals!
  • A must see in the evenings. A lot of choices for food and small things. It's so good! I ended up ate too much :D You don't need to worry about price, people don't seem wanted to cheat you on price. I bought some T-shirts as well. If you buy more, there is some space for negotiating the price. Actually the sellers offered me better price before I ask. :)
  • Worth a visit if you’re into night markets or want to explore for the first time. Atmosphere is great but it gets REALLY CROWDED. The hawker food is really tasty but do be aware that they are quite unhealthy (MSG-laden, salty, deep fried, etc) so you can’t make night markets your staple meal too often.
  • A local market with many amazing street food and also many stores, shops and outlet. Nice and quite clean with many trash bin along market, you can buy food and start finishing it and when you finish it you can drop the left over in the bin right infront of you then start buy new one Tip: There maybe stinky at some point in the market. Don't worry it's not come from the trash bin or something. It came from 'stinky tofu restaurant' which it quite stinky but trust me it's worth trying.
  • Great place to enjoy Taiwanese street food. I loved the fresh guava with the plum powder. And was quite surprised with how good the deep fried mushrooms were. They are now one of my favorites!
