Yeh Liu Geo Park, Xinbei
(4.3/5 based on 1,200+ reviews on the web)
Stretching some 1,700 m (5,577 ft) into the ocean, Yeh Liu Geo Park serves as a natural exhibition area for some of the strangest tent rock formations in the world. Dotted with hoodoo stones, the promontory offers fantastic views of the distinctive geological formations created in Miocene, which pushed the Dalian Mountains out of the sea. Marvel at the rocky Queen’s Head, the rock resembling a profile of Elizabeth II Queen of England, then check out Sea Candles, Fairy’s Shoe, or Ginger Rock. You can have fun concocting your own name for some of the shapes while walking through a forest of tall mushroom-shaped rocks. This bizarre Martian-like landscape can be reached by bus 90 minutes from West Taipei station. Before you head to Xinbei, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Xinbei trip itinerary builder, to make sure you see all that Xinbei has to offer, including Yeh Liu Geo Park.

  • Korean People's Republic of China who seemed to place a ban on the way coming out great ^ ^ every once in a while there to eat an Oyster from the tourism products in the falling fruit is a great place to buy a learning experience

  • A wonderful place for the original rocks shaped by waves: a rock red/amber innumerable shades. Excellent signposting, accessibility and maintenance of facilities. Be careful not to cross the red lines or to touch the rocks, the guardians are rather strict. Pretty long and challenging path to the untrained, they can still stop at the entrance and make great photos. Not to be missed, did you come up with about 80/90-minute bus ride (1815, which stops at Taipei Main Station-West side)

  • Went on a Saturday. Big mistake, too many tourist. If you have the luxury of time, maybe go on a weekday, might be better, or maybe if you had visited on a weekday, you can share your experience. The view is good. Lots of interesting things to take photo with. If you are adventurous enough, and able to walk, suggest that you walk further towards the end of the park towards to sea. I walked there from 10.30am or so in November, very hot. If the weather is cooling, should be quite a nice walk. You will reach the end point pavilion in about 20mins, very cooling and very few people there. Good spot to take photo here.
  • What a spectacular place to visit. They let you get up and touch many of the rocks. It's a great place for photography, especially in the late afternoon when the sun gets closer to the horizon.
  • Visited waay back in the spring a bit before closing & it was pretty cool! Long bus ride from Taipei, but worth it. It's in a fishing neighborhood, so the bay is sooo pretty when the boots are docked for the night. I would say that if ur a female traveling alone, I'd use a bit of caution in the evening. The long wait for the bus if u missed it can be nerve-wrecking, but worth it! Plus, u prob aren't the only one.
  • The rock formations are a spectacular sight to behold. Remember to come early and during good weather, as tourist will start gathering later of the day and during bad weather certain sections will be closed off for safety reasons.
  • The kind of tourist site that you need to visit at least once. Unique rock formation that is very photogenic. Beware if you visit during hot summer days. The park has no shade at all.
