Inspirock Rating:
3.7/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web
With striking architecture distinct from the rest of the island, Sanhsia Old Street allows visitors to soak up a truly Taiwanese atmosphere, through sampling food and window-shopping. Historically the area was an important center for the distribution of goods in northern Taiwan, with many shops selling dyes and teas. Most of the buildings here were built during the Japanese occupation of the early 20th century, and the preserved shops and temples make for interesting architectural sightseeing. Look out for the street's famous cow-horn croissants and candy-makers.
