Fulung Beach, Xinbei

(4/5 based on 55+ reviews on the web)
Fulong Beach, also known as Fulong Bathing Beach, is located at Fulong Village, Gongliao District, New Taipei City at Northeastern Taiwan. It is the outlet of the Shuang River. The sands there are golden, which is rare in Taiwan. Nearby is a camping site named Longmen. This beach is a favorite in the summer for people living in northern Taiwan. The Shuang River divides the beach into inner and outer parts. There is a footbridge named Rainbow Bridge linking the two parts. However, the watercourse of the river varies every year to some extent; sometimes the bridge is functional; other times it is not, because the seaside end would be in the river or in the sea.Recently the sands of the beach have been diminishing year by year, and the coastline is moving shoreward; i.e., the beach is shrinking. It is believed to be related to the staithe built for the Fourth Nuclear Power Plant of Taiwan for equipment disembarking.Since 2000, the Hohaiyan Rock Festival has been held here for 3 to 5 days in the summer. Normally, it takes place in mid-July, but sometimes it has been delayed due to typhoon interruption or damage to the band shell facilities. Also the watercourse of the Shuang River sometimes changes shape or size, influencing the location of these temporary band shells.Transport linksPublic transportFulong Beach is accessible as follows:Railway:Taiwan Railway Administration (TRA) Fulong StationBus:Between Taipei City and Yilan County: Taipei-Luodong Seaside Route of Kingbus (國光客運) to the Fulong StopBetween Taipei City and Hualien County:Taipei-Hualien Seaside Route of Airbus (大有巴士) to the Fulong StopFrom Keelung: Keelung-Fulong Route of Keelung Bus (基隆客運) to the Fulong Stop

  • New year's day I get Sunrise special train from Taipei. Local resort hotel (can use toilets and Wifi) and coast, comes the concert and opening.

  • Nice beach, not far from Taipei. Rescue guys are a little annoying, doh. Better to walk far from them and swim carefully aside.
  • Fantastic golden sand beach. Luckily we have witness the sand sculpting which is stand still. The place is beautiful and relaxing.Nice view
  • Great beach with nice sand. 100 entry fee per person.
  • Very night beach, worth to visit. Although live guards are annoying indeed. If you want to get to the beach with the first bridge from the town, be prepared to pay 100 TWD just for the entrance (hotel area) that's where the life guards are. Next time i rather take the distant bring and stay at unguarded part
  • The most popular beach around Taipei. Entrance fee: 100 ntd. There are showers and toilets but no shade.
