Daxi Old Street, Taoyuan

3.7
Get acquainted with the local culture and history at Daxi Old Street. Once a busy merchant street bustling with the trade of tea and camphor, today it represents a tourist attraction where you can get a great sense of the local way of life. See the many stores and houses, whose architecture represents a mixture of Western and Eastern style, with numerous Baroque facades decorating the shops, cafes, and restaurants. Mingle with the locals and learn about the history of the street and the town, and don't forget to check out what's on offer at the small stores. • As long as it is a holiday, Daxi Old Street is always full of cars, although we live in Yang Mei rarely go, because the Daxi city often car, looking at the steps of the Saturday, no matter from the West, unexpectedly no big car, and quickly stopped to the nearby public parking lot, the whole family along the big Hans Creek walk slowly to the old street, unexpectedly also don't feel too far, A lot of stalls can be eating and drinking, the sale of Things is no special features, but the next side of the temple is very clean and quiet, there are hanging bridge can walk, such as shaking half of the field is not wrong Oh!

  • Beautiful well preserved houses alongside Heping street. We went there on Christmas Eve. Fully crowded. Hundreds of food vendors were there with delicious street foods. Many souvenir shops are also available. Gorgeous Taoist temple at the end. Love visiting this place, specially the back narrow alleys. Beautiful brick houses, feel like I'm in countryside.
  • The old buildings here are beautiful in their own ways. Can pay a visit here to buy some taiwan local products and souvenirs
  • Pretty good place to visit for its historic buildings along the street. Most of them are well maintained to keep the original look. You can find a lot of famous braised beancurd products here. There are also lots of wood sculptures stores.
  • It’s such a nice place , worth visit ! I took bus from Zhongli station directly to Daxi Old town, and its just a walk away from the bus stop to this historical place .
  • Very nice place to visit if you are in northern Taiwan area. Expect havy traffic.
