Daxi Old Street, Taoyuan

3.7
Get acquainted with the local culture and history at Daxi Old Street. Once a busy merchant street bustling with the trade of tea and camphor, today it represents a tourist attraction where you can get a great sense of the local way of life. See the many stores and houses, whose architecture represents a mixture of Western and Eastern style, with numerous Baroque facades decorating the shops, cafes, and restaurants. Mingle with the locals and learn about the history of the street and the town, and don't forget to check out what's on offer at the small stores. • Tofu is delicious! There are all kinds of beans and other products, and some of the old curtilage can be seen, but the streets are really not very long, quickly go to play ... The characteristics of the old street in Taiwan can be strengthened.

  • Because to avoid the holiday, so on weekdays to Daxi Old Street, some shops are not open, compared to a little pity a bit, beans do a lot in the sale, but eat up to the general, relatively lack of surprise, so stroll a suddenly left!

  • Pretty good place to visit for its historic buildings along the street. Most of them are well maintained to keep the original look. You can find a lot of famous braised beancurd products here. There are also lots of wood sculptures stores.
  • It's cool... Just another "old street" in Taiwan: lots of people, lots of kitsch, food. Daxi is known for its 豆干,the shop at the intersection of 燈籠路/中正路 is the best. The bridge at night is ok, the lights are nice but there's many more interesting bridges in Taiwan.
  • There are a number of Baroque style old buildings in Daxi. A lot of shops selling traditional food and delicacies, is a good place to wander around and eat delicious food.
  • A historical city with a iconic bridge of DaXi (Da Xi Qiao in chinese) and have a pretty good scenery there.
  • It was Friday 5pm, not crowded, not much things to see too. Quite many old buildings, if u walk from this old street, it leads u to the daxi bridge. The bridge is nice at night. This daxi old street is interesting, but I probably won't go back since it has rather less to offer. Perhaps we were there at the wrong time.
