Ximen Red House - Ximending serves as a major hub of culture and creativity, hosting regular performances by both local and international artists. Designed by a Japanese architect, this Western-style octagonal building initially served as a market, but was repurposed after World War II. The red-brick theater contains several performance and exhibit areas, as well as a shopping section where you can purchase local crafts, clothing, and souvenirs.   • The facade was under construction so they have a drape over the front of the building with a "fake" Red House image over it. It would've been nice to see this iconic building. The inside has a lot of cute and unique boutiques. You can definitely find something there for yourself or as a souvenir.
  • The time we visited this place, it was under renovation. So we did not appreciate the place thought it have some shops outside. Some local hand made products. The other side of this building, they have a bunch of gay bars and some gays shops...
  • Great Rendez-vous point for drinks near Ximen. Just drinks!
  • Though it was under renovation, you could tell that this site was very important structure of the old Taiwan community. Red brick building that remains to be an art museum.
  • An old, historic movie theater rejuvenated with modem touch. Good place to hang out for old guys and young.
