  • Very nice zoo plenty of animals. This can be an entire day activity if you are a little bit slow at walking. Get there early so you can get a ticket to see the pandas. Plenty of animals to see. You don't have a lot of time to see the giant pandas as it's a constant line that they keep moving. If you stop they yell. Food is overpriced too and not that great. Recommend bringing your own
  • Taipei's dense tropical forests create the perfect setting for a beautiful zoo--a lush green that most zoos in the world only WISH they could duplicate. However, I am surprised by how small the zoo is in terms of the number of animals and habitats, for a city of 7.5 million people. There is still a lot of walking involved, because the grounds are large and the exhibits are pretty spread out. Unfortunately, on the mild-weathered day we went, from 2:30pm -5:00pm we walked by one area after another without seeing animals. Still there were several highlights, including the koalas, the pandas, the penguins, and the energetic black bear. Plus the food prices were quite reasonable and the admission was super cheap. Overall, Taipei Zoo provides an enjoyable and affordable afternoon in a beautiful setting. And taking the gondola ride near the zoo's entrance after the zoo closes creates the perfect ending to the day.
  • This zoo was really big! Expect to take at least 2-3 hours here, and that's if you look at things really fast. There's even a McDonald's inside. There's a NT$5 shuttle from the front and back of the zoo. So you can take it up and walk back down, or walk up through the zoo and then take it back down. There are sections in the zoo where you go inside it and it loops around and then you're out. I thought that was really good because most zoos are like mazes or all together and you don't know which way to go. This zoo has a set course, so it's easier to see everything and not have to go backwards because you may have missed something. The food is pretty cheap and there's also ice cream. There's so many animals in here, and I was pretty impressed with the size of the enclosures. Most zoos in Asia have very small enclosures, but this zoo has some pretty big ones. Not all of course, but many were a good size for the animals. I recommend you go here if you have maybe a 1/2 day to spare. It takes about a 30 min train ride to get here from central Taipei, so it is a bit of a ways.
  • Do you like zoos? This is one. It's nice. They have animals. Also trees. And a little train to get you up the hill. Nothing too good to eat but what do you expect. Bring a picnic
  • Taipei Zoo, quite a interesting place to visit, have all different kind of species and animal, inside zoo have nice shuttle train to take you around if you do not prefer walking, when hungry there are many food stalls and MacDonald's for your pick.
