Taipei Zhongshan Hall, Taipei
Categories: Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
An important historic site built to mark the ascension of the Japanese Emperor Hirohito, Taipei Zhongshan Hall originally functioned as the city hall. The formal ceremony of the Japanese surrender of Taiwan to China in 1945 happened here, and afterward it served as the official meeting place of the ROC National Assembly and the venue of formal inauguration ceremonies. Major official gatherings (welcoming foreign diplomats) have always taken place here. Currently, the hall's several auditoriums host music and dance performances, ceremonies, and art exhibitions. You can attend one of these or simply explore the inside of the building at any time, but do be informed about the events before visiting. Also note that the staff speaks mainly Chinese. Put Taipei Zhongshan Hall into our Taipei family vacation planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

Look at historical stuff, watch from the outside is good, but during aging, cooler is bad. We dropped in for a dose of hot sightseeing around going, but opposite the entrance mouth non-humid, not so long.show original

This Historical Hall is built during Japanese-ruled era on the place of Qing-Dynasty Taiwan Provincial Government Hall. This was an important hall for town-meeting of top government officer. Now it is a historical monument but still open for visitor sightseeing and as venue for art performance. The open-space plaza in front of this hall is a good place to take a break after a long-walking in XiMenDing District.
Historical building with interesting detail. Also houses a fine music hall and at least a good restaurant with balcony.
Good shows and nice build.
It is a historical theater for performance now. Visitors are not allowed to enter if there is no show.
