  • This night market was much better than others. Had the chicken steak from stall called "mean demon", I think. It was crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. A sock vendor recommended this place over others and I spent 30 minutes looking for it but it was so worth it. Tiny, tiny stall had no indication that they sold chicken. Also had fresh sugarcane juice with a squeeze of calamansi which was good. Fried taro balls with salted egg and pork sung was also good. Had plenty of souvenir shops. Bought many useless, but cute gifts.
  • must visit for any tourist, and for locals, great place to spend ~2 hours on a weekend. There is a ton of street food, carnival-style games, and shopping (primarily local fast fashion, sneakers). It's easiest to either take a taxi or take MRT red line to Jiantan station. If you drive and the main underground parking lot is full, drive forward another 500m or so and there is a large open-air parking lot.
  • What more do we have to say? On 端午节, the entire walkway was completely flooded with people and one lane on the road had to be seized from the motorist to accommodate the visitors. You will have to join the various queues to get the famed chicken chops that are found in this night market. Try out other equally famous Taiwanese delights here that will certainly be the highlight of this spectacular night market!
  • Great place to go to, especially since everyone was so friendly. The food was great, and it was definately a great experience. Some vendors tried to rip me off though, because it is obvious that I am a tourist.
  • We went to Shilin Nightmarket around 7:00pm and the streets started to get crowded at that time. Here you can find many different types of food, that you surely never tried before, and shop in the numerous stores all around you. If you are afraid of the crowd, you might not like this place though, or try to get there early or on a weekday. But it is part of the ambiance of the place!
