Learn about Taiwanese pre-history and indigenous culture at National Taiwan Museum. The museum, established in 1908 during the Japanese colonial era, is the oldest in Taiwan. Take a turn around its three floors and explore the building's mash-up of classical and Renaissance styles, as well as its Greek temple facade, vaulted ceiling, and Greek columns. Leave time to visit the museum garden to see outdoor exhibitions, which include bronze buffalo, a collection of stone tablets, old locomotives, and some cannons. • Last day of Taipei, stopped by to this museum because it was about two hours by bus from Taipei main station. Splendid building situated in a beautiful park. Can learn about Taiwan's history and culture during the exhibition. It would be about an hour without too much size, too slow. Ants and also to explore there are interesting souvenir corner, it does not. Personally, masking tape is cute, is recommended. Turn on not enter the souvenir is out of the gate.

  • The Museum building is nice, worth for the architecture. There was an exhibition about the importance of bicycle for the country that was interesting, however small. The other exhibitions about the nature and the past of the island were very basic and no texts in English. As the entrance is cheap, 30 NTs. But don't expect too much by the Museum.

  • Big building. Not much on display. I found the aboriginal section the best. Other environmental displays were average and below museum standard
  • Beautiful place for fossil. And free entry. Really enjoy my trip here.
  • It is a former Dai-Ichi kangyo Bank, which was completed in 1923, building (Land Bank of Ryukyu hotel). Has become the land of the land bank, including current right next to Mitsui & co. (Taiwan headquarters building). Here is national "soil Silver Pavilion", is used as a Paleozoic Museum (which is treated like a part of the National Taiwan Museum). Poised the facade seems to be banking and Mitsui & co. building, so don't have time here take a look at photos to commemorate the methods offered. First described as the Bank and the Paleozoic Museum is worth to the building itself, so I hold it. National Museum and set 30 yuan.
