  • Excellent collection of historical finds- great glass, ceramic, wood, metal, precious stone, paper, art etc!  more »
  • We walked to this museum after lunch from Taipei Main Station (MRT). We took about 15 to 20 min. Along the way at Nanyang Street, there were many eateries which we should have tried. As we were runnin...  more »
  • One of my favourite things about Taipei is that the museums are within walking distances from each other (2-3 miles is still "walking distance" for me, but when in doubt grab an Uber or take the metro...  more »

  • This is primarily a natural history museum showing fossils discovered in and around Taiwan. Most visitors, however, are attracted by the towering replicas of dinosaur skeletons. The museum is housed in a beautiful early 20th century building that was originally built for the Nippon Kangyo Bank, which was later renamed Land Bank. The original vault of the bank has been preserved and now has a collection of memorabilia from the early years of the bank. I found this more interesting than the fossils or dinosaurs. The museum also has a small gift shop and a nice restaurant with outdoor seating. English is available everywhere in the museum. The admission ticket costs 30 NT (1 USD) and can also be used for admission to the National Taiwan Museum across the street.
  • If you are looking for an ultimate kids experience, visit this section of National Taiwan museum full of dinosaur fossils and animal specimens and artifacts. It is like a miniature American Museum of Natural History and Taiwan should be proud of this exhibit!
  • Stamp collection and great taipei history. Love the metal door!
  • Loved how vault and story on the national bank. Also very nice dinosaur museum.
  • The dinosaur skeletons (replica) look beautiful against the ceiling of the historical building.
