Guandu Temple (Kuantu Temple), Taipei

Categories: Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 150 reviews on the web
Dating back to 1661, Guandu Temple (Kuantu Temple) stands as a mixed Taoist and Buddhist temple dedicated to both Mazu, Goddess of the Sea, and Guanyin, Goddess of Mercy. On a hill, this immense temple’s upper levels and gardens provide expansive views over the riverfront below. Inside, find examples of exquisite workmanship: intricate decorations of stone lions, dragon pillars, wall sculptures and carvings. The complex includes smaller temples and sanctuaries and even a cave along the side. Brace yourself to climb countless stairs, though. If you enjoy the smell of incense, observe people praying. To escape the crowds of worshippers and tourists, take a stroll in the park behind the temple or along the riverside path.
  • Great temple. Large plant and completely free. Even though it was away from the city very worthwhile!

  • Beautiful temple with great views on the Tamsui River and the city. He is reachable by underground passages from different sides. To reach by subway (Guandu station). Then follow the directions and always the red coloured afterwards run hanging over the streets.
