Fine Arts Museum, Taipei
(4/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
Learn about modern art at Fine Arts Museum, the first museum in the country to promote only modern art shows. The artwork starts with the architecture of the building itself, which is shaped like a pound sign (or hashtag) where you can spend a time admiring both local and international art exhibitions. Take a night stroll next to the museum to see the light show projected onto the building, forming yet another artistic installment. Families will appreciate the cafe with a playroom for children under the age of 5. You can purchase books in the basement museum bookstore, situated alongside the resting area. • A good museum is a combination of creative space and the exhibits. The building and the architecture goes a long way in enhancing the experience of the exhibits inside. There are very few museums that...  more »
  • 在圓山捷運站、花博公園附近,是個有數十年歷史的美術館,但近年展覽缺乏特色,也沒有更新更有創意的經營,反而不如台中或高雄的美術館吸引人。
  • I had the chance to visit this Museum, in November 2016, at the time of the Biennale of Taipei, I discovered and appreciated the work of Wang Hsin, Taiwanese photographer, born in 1941, his series of black and white photos "farewell to Orchid Island" particularly moved me. I spent three hours on the spot, but we can stay longer.

  • Wonderful museum. Admission fee is super cheap making the space quite accessible. There's so much to see in this museum. Aside from the exhibition spaces, they also have screenings rooms, a library, children's exhibition center, gift shop, outdoor seating, and more.
  • A lovely building with picturesque surroundings. The exhibits can be a bit hit or miss but since it's such a large museum there's always something interesting going on. The tickets are cheap too, sometimes free. You can also have a bag service if you don't want to lug your backpack around.
  • Nice museum. Very cheap admission tickets. No audio tour for rent but if you want a tour they have scheduled tours. Should check web site or museum app for time schedule for tours. Exhibition is usually good but should check on their website for what you're actually interested in beforehand.
  • Very big and cheap, just for 30 NTD, it change their theme every time, so it will different every time visit this place
  • Very interesting exhibits and very well written English descriptions. The exhibits are presented on a rolling basis. Definitely worth $30 NT.
