Where to stay in Taipei

Taipei offers an impressive selection of accommodation options for every type of budget. For the least expensive rooms, consider areas near the main train station. You can usually find deep discounts online, so it pays to plan at least a month in advance. If you prefer to play it safe and don't mind paying a top price, go for one of the city's four- or five-star hotels, most of which offer quick access to popular tourist areas and some of the best shopping and dining spots.

  • This could be a nice place to eat but all the restaurants close early. By 9 p.m., most restaurants are cleaning up. None stays open later than 10 p.m. I could perhaps understand this in a shopping mal...  more »
  • Easy place to get to, and it's quite nice for a short stay. There's stores and a lot of places to eat (many cool concepts and places I'd like to try in the future). Everything's from sushi, Taiwanese ...  more »

  • There's a few good restaurants on the 2nd floor. 1st floor has a few little good food stalls. Bottom floor is just the trains.
  • It's a train station, and there is some food there. Nothing incredible, but perfectly serviceable. If there is one good point, is that the station is kept nice and clean.
  • Some shopping can be done here along with lots of restaurant. Restaurant themes are from all over the world, from South Asia to North America. A lot of them are food court styled though, so dining is done in the communal area. There are some restaurants with their own seating though, if it bothers you.
  • Very interesting stores here to shop for some souvenirs to bring home! Prices are competitive and my opinion is to get outside the main station if you can find one.
  • 擁擠,而且逛美食廣場竟然不準拍照? Too many people, and not allowed to take photo when you walk around the food court! Not a good place to stop by, only when you just want to have some quick meal. Avoid the place if you can.
