228 Peace Memorial Park, Taipei

(3.9/5 based on 55+ reviews on the web)
The first European-style park in Taiwan, built in 1908, 228 Peace Memorial Park today represents a refuge from the city. Walk along the pathways and see old trees, a pond, and pavilions. The park also showcases some shrines and relics and holds two of Taiwan's most important museums. Part of the peace and quiet comes from the fact that the park stands as a memorial to a massacre from 1947. A monument in the park commemorates the event. Plan your visit to 228 Peace Memorial Park and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Taipei travel itinerary planner.
