The products are plentiful. Cake and plenty of shops that closed on Monday and on Sunday, after visiting on Tuesday! I bought a lot though.

Okay, first things first. It's expensive. It's probably due to rent and product presentation that's prettier than normal traditional markets. It doesn't make sense for everyday grocery shopping. You're better off going to a traditional morning market or dusk market. That said, it's business hours extend beyond dusk and dawn, so it's more convenient. Also, it carries items you can't really get elsewhere such as mainland condiments. There's a store on 1fl that will sell you everything you need for traditional northern Chinese hotpot. Again, convenient.

The market is THE market for Taipeinese. The market exists since 1907 by Japanese. It is the place all Taipeinese come here to buy there New Year grocery. You can literally find anything you want here. My family has shopped at this place for more than 60 years, and we still go every single year. If you want to know the traditional Taipei , this is the place you must visit. You'll for sure surprised what can you find here.

Multi storey market. Come here to get a quick look and feel of local produce, snacks and food in Taiwan. Ground floor: grocery stores and cooked food shops, along with the famous Kuaiche brand meat jerky. Basement: seafood, meat, vegetables stalls. Second storey: foodcourt.

A list of authentic, traditional Chinese food dishes that you've absolutely got to try. Unfortunately, you might not find them anywhere coming together in one place but Taiwan.
