Where to stay in Taipei

Taipei offers an impressive selection of accommodation options for every type of budget. For the least expensive rooms, consider areas near the main train station. You can usually find deep discounts online, so it pays to plan at least a month in advance. If you prefer to play it safe and don't mind paying a top price, go for one of the city's four- or five-star hotels, most of which offer quick access to popular tourist areas and some of the best shopping and dining spots.

  • perfekt view over beitou, classic well preseved japanese time building
  • Cute for a few mins. Entrance was TWD 120 per person for adults which included socks as we had to remove our shoes. Only place around here that required an entrance fee. There was a tea room/restaurant which was skipped. One of the most expensive gift shops I have ever seen.
  • It was unfortunately raining the time I visited, but the museum offers classes such as matcha mixing indoors. Nice souvenir shop with lots of interesting pieces.
  • You feel like you are really in Japan. Authentic House, Garden... good experience.
  • A relaxing historical place to enjoy a healthy lunch / afternoon tea. In this heritage Japanese house which was first built as a hot spring hotel, visitors can come see exhibitions and the old building with a guided tour, or come enjoy a healthy Japanese meal prepared by steaming or grill. Came here for a no-menu lunch. The food was decent, staff was friendly, and it costed NTD 880 excluding 10%. Partially enjoyed the historical ambience, and the mountain view outdoor. Not bad to spend an afternoon, especially when the weather is good.
