  • Opened in the mid 2014, the historical building has witnessed the glorious history of Tainan since 1932. The brown building symbolizes the heyday of Japanese rule at that time, and the luxurious and imported goods satisfied the needs of the rising upper and middle classes. Nowadays, the renovated department store was once again brought a new life to tell all the visitors it is more than a revived landmark, but a place you could relax and enjoy.
  • I am very fond of the mosaic floor in the elevator. They said it was the first elevator in Taiwan exclusively for customers. And this was one of the two oldest department stores in southern Taiwan which dates back to 1932. This historical building now reopened after renovation and became a cultural and creative hot spot for tourists and for all kinds of workshops and commodities featuring the "Taiwanese Spirit." Usually it's crowded on holidays. I am glad I picked the right time to come.
  • Beautifully restoration and recreation of a Japanese era centerpiece. Like traveling back in time. Interesting Taiwanese products for sale too. Nice art deco style cafe on 5th floor to rest and cool off from the Tainan heat. Don't miss the elevator!
  • a well remained of the oldest and tallest department store in Tainan. reserves decoration details and even imitate the ancient elevator with pointer to indicate the floor to stops the entire building looks absolutely stunning at night, offer a variety of creative products, yet very few people actually buy them.
  • Very comfortable place for tourists. Going back to the old days. Atmosphere definitely fascinating. Food is good and easy. Café offers excellent city view.
