  • I went there last week and I only noticed that the entrance ticket is limited. However, it's ok for me since I enjoyed very much by just sitting and chilling outside the museum. I went there by taking...  more »
more »

  • Super huge modern museum - they show weapons from different times and cultures. Taking photos is not allowed. Air conditioning works well :)). 1 fancy restaurant and 1 coffee shop inside / outside. Bus transfer from the train station available.
  • Great collection of fine art pieces - exhibition highlights included sculptures from Rodin & his coterie (Camille Claudel et Al), a couple of small Dali sculptures, and a round up of classical painting from 17th to 20th Centuries. My suggestion is unless you're with young children, to skip the natural history exhibition, as it's a tad cheesy and dull. Also, photography is not allowed inside the museum. Fascinating, well put together, and definitely not what you'd expect to find in Tainan!
  • I spent 6 hours here a loved everything from the cafe to the artwork. The audio guide explains the art pieces perfectly and their importance. What I did not appreciate was the lack of self awareness by the visitors and staff. Constantly nudging into each other and allowing children to rampage through the fine art gallery why the staff looked on with their 'be quiet' signs is a disgrace. Chimei should be ashamed. These types of visitors need to start thinking about others rather then themselves. Cutting in front of someone for 10 seconds and reading one tenth of a display card while someone else is reading and enjoying a piece of art just so you can say, "FIRST" is impolite.
  • Beautiful exhibit with many contents & precious artifacts, however, it is ridiculous not to allow photography within the premises. It is not as if they are protecting national treasure or any of such sorts, even sacred places in other nations permit photography.
  • An amazing museum in Tainan with a large collection of art! I had two and a half hours to spend, there but felt like I could have spent an entire day!
