  • The location of Chung Hau Night Market is more convenient, in the vicinity of Taichung Station, although it is not as big as the place of the night market, but there are still many food styles, and the place is clean. Since there is no subway in Taichung, if you live near the Taichung Station, go to the night market.

  • In Taichung in city the biggest night in the go don't expect fine things was a was a city at night. In particular, mango Poker good ice. I think is worth going from the Taichung train station, took over 10 minutes on foot. Price is reasonable on the whole.

  • There is a night market for the rich, filial piety night market belongs to the traditional type. Night markets specialize in selling civilian snacks, because there is no way to go shopping, so there is a lot less crowd. The most famous West Promenade eggs Fried rice is the entire ticket to select the top 10 fried rice, fried grain grain clearly plus taichung in the ground chili sauce, super!

  • So many local food here and pricing is extremely affordable. If you are adventurous, you can eat the snacks and food from the long stretch of stalls along the road. We stopped by to eat the cheapest "siow long pau" from a stall that started 30 years ago. It's not popular with tourist here, can see many local buying food from the stalls. Cleanliness may not up to usual standard but since so many locals are still patronizing this place, it should be alright. A nice place to blend into the people of TaiChung lifestyle and enjoying the local foods, especially during the winter cold night.
  • It's not as big or crowded as the famous night markets around but has quite a variety of local food choices. Definitely less touristy and you can see a lot of locals ordering food to go on their motorbikes
  • Another great place to find local food in Taichung such as fried chicken and watermelon juice. Usually crowded at night. Most of the stalls close after 1030 so you might want to come here not too late at night.
  • A Limited variety of snacks. Although there are a number of vendors, it doesn't take an hour to skim through all of them.
  • Generally most are local people. Cheap and delicious food with a great variety.

Where to stay in Taichung

Look at the Central District for the main accommodations in Taichung. This area contains the majority of the city's high-rise chain hotels, both luxurious and standard, along with a few simple guesthouses, family-run boutique establishments, and hostels. Xitun District features a number of eco-friendly hotels, with the emphasis very much of green grounds, spa relaxation, and restaurants with diverse, seasonal menus. Guesthouses and apartment rentals can be found in the more residential districts encircling the city center.
