  • This modern mall has a lot to offer, from Uniqlo to Prada and everything in between. Though there is literally something for everyone, I would say Mitsukoshi specializes in food and high-end boutiques. It has a movie theater, a small grocery store, and 15 levels of clothes, restaurants, electronics, cosmetics, home fashions, jewelry, shoes and more designer brands than I ever knew existed. The floors are mostly grouped by category, keeping like-items together, but the system isn't exact. Women's clothing shops, for example, can still be found on at least 10 different floors. So for me, it can be overwhelming if I'm trying to find just one specific item. But if you're just looking for a big mall to peruse, this will probably be your dream come true. Especially since, when you're done looking at Mitsukoshi, you can walk right next door and spend another couple hours at Top City. :) About the mall layout: PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION: There is a bus stop located in front of Mitsukoshi and also underground parking that can be accessed from the rear of the building. Three more street-level parking lots are located along Taiwan Blvd, to the west of the Mitsukoshi building. ELEVATOR TIP: If you like taking the scenic route, the center escalators do zig zag all the way to the top floor, but of course the elevators provide a faster ride if your destination is high up. The less-congested elevator bays can be found on the east side of the building. EXTERIOR: On the outside of Mitsukoshi you can purchase movie tickets for the Shinkong Cineplex Theater (on 13F and 14F). You can also purchase tickets on 12F. 1F- The ground floor has dozens of name brand cosmetic counters--including Chanel, MAC and Clinique. To the back of this level are several designer boutiques such as Prada, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Two floors down, B2 has a small grocery store, bakery, small food court, and rows of classy Japanese-style food counters, featuring beautiful gourmet desserts, teas, and baked goods. On B1 are dozens of women's shoe boutiques/kiosks, plus a couple clothing and accessories shops. On 2F the highlights are an iStore, Paul French Cafe (yum), and more designer shops. At 3F are many more (*cough* expensive) designer collections of apparel and accessories. Many unique fashions can be found here, as well as well-known brands. 4F is mostly ladies' lingerie, clothing, and jewelry. 5F has men's fashions, men's shoes and men's accessories. 6F is the baby, maternity and children's floor with an adorable Rilakkuma Cafe. This floor also has a first aid/nurse's station toward the back. (free water if you're thirsty!) 7F is the bed and bath floor, plus some home furnishings shops. It features a Muji store on the end. 8F is kitchenware and electronics. Many high-end appliance brands are carried here, including many popular foreign brands, wired for Taiwan. 9F has a handful of sit-down restaurants and a large Sony store, carrying all types of items from electronics to books to umbrellas. 10F is the newly remodeled--and very popular--restaurant level with several nice sit-down restaurants to choose from. My favorite is the Italian restaurant which has great vegetarian options. 11th floor includes a Starbucks, a 7-11, Coldstone, Uniqlo, and lots of casual clothing and shoes. 12F is a large food court, with a sea of tables, a McDonalds, and many Asian restaurants. 13F Is home to two great restaurants--Gordon Biersch and Kanpai Yakiniku Restaurant. The Shin Kong Cinema also begins at this level and covers 2 floors.
  • This department store is currently the most popular in Taichung. It has a good mixture of high-end brands as well as a bunch of the fast-fashion brands as well. The food court is always bustling and a half-dozen new restaurants on the 10th floor are always busy.
  • Huge department store. I can spend almost all day here. Every floor has something different. A shoppers paradise
  • The best shopping mall in Taichung. A variety of options for food, good location, overall nice decoration.
  • crowded, vibrant place, nice place to window-shop, food court packed on weekends
