  • At the end of the "grass sat" National Natural Science Museum in one of the largest in Taiwan. Human history, astronomy, the Museum focuses on a wide range of areas, such as nature, there is also a Tropical Botanical Garden of the giant greenhouse. In a few hours around this is is not a huge Museum.

  • Decent museum if you have children and don't use other museums such as AMNH as comparison. Exhibits are mostly labeled in Chinese so non-speakers may encounter some difficulty. Exhibits appear disorganized at times and seem out of place. Museum gift shop has a more impressive collection of fossils and geological specimens than the actual exhibits.
  • This is recommended for family or friends who are interested in science education. The fee is affordable and you could see many specific and educational exhibition on the mysteries of science. My favourite is on the exhibition introducing the local culture of Oceania inhabitants and their environment. Also, the botanical garden across the street is also favourable.
  • I have only been to the space theater. Regarding that aspect, it's a nice place to watch discovery-like short films on gigantic curved screen.
  • A great place to bring the kids. I recall that admission is free on Wednesday morning, but expect the place to be packed with kindergarteners if you're planning to come on a Wednesday. It's worth getting a family card if you're planning on coming more than twice a year. It only costs something like NT$200. The two gift shops are a good place to pick up some "edutainment" type toys and games for kids. The one at the back sells coffee and cake and some very cool-looking fossils with price tags to match. NT$1.6 million was the most expensive one I spotted!
  • The integration of science and nature within this museum area is excellent. This is one of the important reason making it famous and loved by visitors and tourists, especially for thousands and thousands of school kids. The news said that they tried to create a parking lot project here. If the parking lot is once built here, they will destroy this wonderful and excellent museum for ever. That is, the fame of this excellent educational science museum will go down deeply.
