3.1/5 based on 45+ reviews on the web
Get in touch with your spiritual side, appreciate tranquility, and pay homage to Confucius at ConfuciusTemple Martyr's Shrine. Unlike many other temples on the island, which were built in either the Ming or Qing dynasty styles, this structure boasts a Song Dynasty palace-style design and also happens to be the island's largest and most colorful temple. Enter this holy complex by passing through two grand archways that guard the entrance, then continue to stroll through the complex grounds. Small bridges stretch over man-made ponds; guards perform marching exercises during different times of the day.
