  • It retains the historical relics of the modern Taiwan history and is a very beautiful Taiwan building. Take a trip to Fog Peak Lin, to learn about Taiwan's recent history. A good place to take a look at the size of your family!

  • This is a night-time guide (limited), in the evening and light cage contrast the special atmosphere of the miracle, in particular, Taiwan's only Fuzhou-style theater is very beautiful, in front of tea more imaginative space, seems to be able to listen to and see the year's people in the hot entertainment happy activity! The next time we have to come by day, experience different feelings! The staff members are very close to each other, it is worth to go to the good point!

  • The alley here is narrow small, it's really hard to find a parking place. The area of the fog is very wide and has a free and accessible area and a pay-for-visit area that will be available for hire by the viewer or by the navigation ear. There are some literary creations and old early snacks to choose from.

  • Not worth the effort to go if you're not Taiwanese. You can only see the house via a guided tour, which is only provided in Chinese. My boyfriend didn't understand Chinese, so I tried translating for him. But even I had trouble understanding the guide sometimes, because she often used a local dialect during the tour, and spoke too softly and too fast (I don't know why she didn't bother using the mic/headset that was provided). What's even worse - she actually excluded us. During the free tea session, she was friendly to everyone in the group and asked after them - everyone except us. Nevermind that I could clearly speak and understand Chinese. We didn't feel welcomed at all. This place is geared towards domestic tourists only, and will exclude anyone who does not understand Chinese or the local dialect.
  • The ticket is a little bit expensive.
  • Beautifully preserved historic home of the Lin family. It's like being back in time - all you need is to dress in costumes. Definitely worth visiting when you go to Taichung.
  • It's impressive inside, but the ticketing experience was less than great. Make sure you arrive at the right time for the tours or you can't get in.
  • Traditional architecture and nice place to visit

Where to stay in Taichung

Look at the Central District for the main accommodations in Taichung. This area contains the majority of the city's high-rise chain hotels, both luxurious and standard, along with a few simple guesthouses, family-run boutique establishments, and hostels. Xitun District features a number of eco-friendly hotels, with the emphasis very much of green grounds, spa relaxation, and restaurants with diverse, seasonal menus. Guesthouses and apartment rentals can be found in the more residential districts encircling the city center.
