Eluanbi, Pingtung County

Part of a national park, Eluanbi remains an ideal spot for strolling and visiting a historic lighthouse providing scenic views of the ocean. The history of the area is closely associated to the Japanese colonial rule, war shipping, and whale hunting. Sharks and sea turtles inhabit the waters around the cape, while its shores provide a home for an old-growth forest and land crabs. • According to the light tower, Taiwan's most southerly light tower, has always been guided by the D boat Point line, itself expect he will be good old and cruel, point know to have found his few beautiful (should have been performed), do Wenqing friends can go to the shadow of the same, like

  • I guess people who come here mainly visit the Light house, which although nice was nothing too special. Entrance fee was not too expensive.  more »
  • Swan 鑾 A representative view of the nose! Swan 鑾 nose Light Tower! The white building group can be clearly seen far away, and it is absolutely justified to go below the light tower and take a picture! It was a pity that the weather was poor and hurried away. It's too bad that you can't walk to the sea.

  • We left feeling somewhat conflicted. There's a 80 NTD entry fee (as of July 2017), which may not be much depending on where you're coming from, but there's really not much to see once you're inside. Granted, there's a fairly decent view of the sea from the lookout point, and free access to the lighthouse, which is closed on Mondays (something everyone seems to forget to mention). As it is, we just walked all the way to the top, peeked at the lighthouse from outside the locked gate, cooled down at the gift shop (selling refreshments and random craft items that have no particular connection to Eluanbi itself), before heading to the shade-less lookout point (aka human barbecue pit). Call me spoiled, but better views can probably be had for free elsewhere.
  • There were a gate far outside the park collecting parking fee. Even thought it is only NT10 but I don't feel great when you went in there were another entrance noted you need to pay to enter the park. It was raining and I decided not to pay and walk in the park under the rain. So I wasted the money for parking end up taking photo of this information board which is not so pleasant to me. And the parking hut was closed when I was going out less than 10 minutes later. It really get a feel of money minded person are running this place. I wonder does this BOT also meant in the movie Cape No 7?
  • When i came here, i was closed due to the typhoon. the guard let us in, great, there was nearly no others in the park. The park is great, and so is the beacon.
  • So beautiful! You can enjoy yourself here and close to the nature.
  • Visited the park twice. The natural environment of the park seemed degraded to me during the second visit, the lawn outside of the lighthouse used to be densely green, not much was left when I visited last summer. Some of the longshore boardwalks were frequently damaged due to severe weathers. The transit can be a bit painful if you decide to visit the place in the middle of July due to the extreme heat.
