Yingge Ceramics Street, New Taipei

3.9
Covered with cobblestones and lined with slim palm trees, Yingge Ceramics Street lies at the heart of the biggest center for pottery in Taiwan. The street and the surrounding area are packed with 800 shops and art studios producing porcelain and ceramic goods, from simple bowls and vases to decorative water fountains. Stop by one of the ceramic workshops, throw a chunk of wet clay on a wheel, and try spinning your own piece of ceramic art with a little help from a master. Your finished creation will be shipped to the address of your choice after drying and baking. Put Yingge Ceramics Street into our New Taipei sightseeing planning website and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • From Taipei by train arriving at the Yingge station in 30 minutes. It is a pottery town takes about 10 minutes on foot from there. Old shop, new shop a lot.

  • Teapot mainly will be overwhelmed with the number in China and countless shops. Around, in Taipei city around the tea-things more look here all day is enough. Beginner from a maniac store won't get bored spread its width. Open all day long in Yingge!

  • I was not prepared for the treasures I saw here. Stunning artwork lines these streets from beautiful tea sets all the way to massive statues in jade. You could spend an entire day here (and perhaps a fortune). Shop carefully and you can find some beautiful pieces for a reasonable price with some maker’s mark bragging rights. My girlfriend bought me a lovely classic blue and white travel tea ceremony set here that blows people away.
  • These streets are quite nice. They sell a lot of ceramics for all the flavours and wallets. If you are a fan of tea you definitely have to visit this place. It is a good walk during a weekend day.
  • It's quite a lovely area to experience taiwan's old street. Yingge is famous for its 陶瓷/ceramics. Definitely worth a visit! (NOT ON WEEKENDS.. unless you want to get trampled -_-) haha~
  • If you love pots and ceramics, this is heaven for you. I bought some bonsai pots, flower pots, plates, and tea pot. There is one stall that sells plants and seeds. There are bonsai displays as well. But i was not able to look at the price. Pottery is fairly priced.
  • hundreds of shop selling ceramic wares. one need 3 4 hrs to explore all shops. glass Nick naks are also every attractive. nice place to do shopping or just taking a look what all shops have to offer...
