The Lover's Bridge, New Taipei

3.6
Discover a pleasant view of the fisherman’s wharf from The Lover's Bridge. The pedestrian bridge--opened on Valentine’s Day in 2003--offers great sunset views, as well as a romantic atmosphere when the night lights start changing color. If you visit with your lover, however, beware of the local belief that couples who cross the bridge together end up breaking up. At the wharf, you'll find various restaurants, cafes, and bars serving delicious food and refreshing beverages. Put The Lover's Bridge on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our New Taipei driving holiday website .

  • This bridge modelling is very beautiful, suits the photograph very much, the weather good time matches the blue Sky White cloud, in this walk is 愜 the intention to stroll, has some snacks underneath the bridge, may buy the side to eat to stroll.

  • It was Christmas morning of 2017 when my wife and I walked all the way from Tamsui MRT station to this iconic bridge. You read it right, WE WALKED! Haha! Since the weather was cold (and we wanted to b...  more »

  • A rainbow of an experience! The bridge is fascinating to look at from afar, and up close. Take your sweetheart here, hold hands, and be mesmerized by the changing colors on the bridge. You can purchase beers from stalls below and take them with you on this walk. Pedestrian-only bridge that is open 24-hours a day. Busy times are around dinner time, especially on weekends. But it is still worth a visit. You can also order a party boat! We saw groups of 20 people board boats with loud music, to be driven around the harbor. Looked like a lot of fun. Definitely worth the visit if you are in the area. Lots of food/beverage and gift shops to check out nearby. The bridge takes about 5 minutes to walk the length, it is not huge but it is big enough to be impressive.
  • I really like the lights on the bridge at night and the beautiful sunset, when it's not cloudy, you can see the sun above the sea, as red as fire. You can also enjoy the lovely breeze on the bridge !
  • The wind is really strong in the evening and night. Do remember to bring your jacket! And also do catch the sunset, the view is awesome!
  • Nothing much. Maybe it's nicer if you come during the might time. But not really worth the wait and time unless you really like long by the sea walks.
  • Avoid going during winter, unless you can embrace the cold sea breeze. Worth going once but not spectacular to want to go again. And it costs about 200NTD to take a metered cab from Tamsui to here.
