Yushan National Park, Nantou County

4.6
Yushan National Park is one of the nine national parks in Taiwan and was named after the summit Yushan, the highest peak of the park. The park covers a total of 103,121 hectares including large sections of the Central Mountain Range. The park contains over thirty peaks more than 3,000 meters in elevation, and two-thirds of the area within the park is above 2,000 meters. The elevation difference in the park is 3,600 meters, and there are many canyons, cliffs, and valleys.Because its remote location and entry control, Yushan National Park is not among the most visited national parks in Taiwan. Even so, the park still attracted 973,821 visitors in 2011.GeologyTaiwan, which owes its existence to the power of plate tectonics, remains a place of regular seismic activity. Examples of geological features such as fault lines, joints, and folding can be seen throughout Yushan National Park: Great Precipice (大峭壁) — Great Precipice (23.4683339 120.9396649) is located 1.2 km before Paiyun Lodge (排雲山莊) on the Yushan Trail. A precipitous cliff with fossils of ancient marine species and a few wavy marks in the rock can still remind us its oceanic past. Scree slope at the foot of Main Peak Fault scarp in Laonong (荖濃) between Main Peak and Batongguan (八通關) Fuzi Cliff (父子斷崖) and Guanshan Cliff (關山斷崖) The southern Cross Island Highway and Yushan Scenic Highway both offer countless opportunities to witness the area’s special geological features.

  • Yushan Peak is Taiwan is also the highest peak of East Asia, climbing needs to be in advance. The road is clear, and there is a lot of help in the steep. Due to the elevation of 3952m, should pay attention to the possibility of Alpine disease, want to climb before also to maintain a certain body energy.

  • On the first night we first lived in the mountains of the east, the second sky (with Xifeng), and on the third day after climbing the Yushan peak, we went back to the clouds and then drove away. We just met the snow season has ice, very slippery risk increased a lot, advice to go to pick the spring and summer is safer, or winter with ice to catch snow experience can also. If you choose to return to the East Po on a single attack trip from the east to the Yushan peak, you will have to arrive at the Cloud Hill before 10 o ' Day, otherwise you won't be able to pay attention! There are questions you can ask the mountain friends, everyone is full of cut, when the mountain met each other remember to say hello!

  • The special experience of the highest peak in Taiwan is breathtaking and unique, and it is worth experimenting. Please arrange cloud Mountain to rely on the air, so it is a single attack way, single attack also want to, but more easily successful. The opposite is a simple attack. Since the top to the Cloud mountain is about 4-5 hours, and the morning 10 is not able to attack the roof, it must be developed in the morning 5-6. The downhill is also better, whether it is dark road is not good to go. If you want to have a leisurely view of the people, or to exhaust clouds bar!
