Take a look in the center of town to find a number of hotels of all types, along with some simple guesthouses. • The décor is very nice and grand. Go to the very back and climb up to the very top of the stairs, and you can get a lovely view of the Sun Moon Lake  more »
  • Wenwu temple was a highlight of our visit to Sun Moon Lake. We started from Shuishe and drove anti-clockwise around the lake so this was our last stop. The advantage was that we saved the best to last...  more »
  • This is a majestic and magnificent temple and is definitely worth a visit. Whilst there, make sure you walk the 366 steps, a flight of stairs one step for each day of a year.  more »

  • Wenwu Temple on Sunmoon Lake is a destination in and of itself--so layered and intricate. As soon as you have passed through one temple, you enter another. Its quite surprising. When our plan to bike around Sun Moon Lake went out the window because of heavy fog, we ended up at Wenwu Temple instead. What a happy accident that turned out to be. We never could see the lake through the thick fog, but we had a wonderful time exploring this beautiful area. The Wall in the very back of the Temple is unlike any I have ever seen. I was in awe.
  • The view from here for Sun Moon Lake is beautiful! Stunning architecture. Lots of other temple things to do and see here.
  • Intricate carvings on walls. Not too bad. Supposedly you get good blessings here.
  • There are 365 stairs at wenwu temple based on day of birth. Find your own and meaning.
  • Go for the view, it's worthy it. One of the best places to take panoramic pictures of the sun moon lake.
