Tuntex 85 Sky Tower, Lingya

3.4
#Must See
Climb to the top of the lofty Tuntex 85 Sky Tower and enjoy panoramic views across the cityscape, watching the comings and goings of vessels in Kao port. Standing at 347.5 m (1,140 ft) high, and with a form based on the first Chinese "kanji" (character) of the city's name, the tower was the tallest structure in Taiwan until it was superseded by the Taipei 101 in 2009. Occupied by offices, a department store, and a hotel, the 44th floor of the hotel was omitted due to eastern numerical superstition, and from the 45th floor to the 83rd, the structure contains one of the highest continuous atriums in the world. Head to the 75th floor for the viewing platform, and consider a visit later in the day to take in a picturesque sunset. • With all due respect, it is not worth it to see, the following commercial shops have a lot of no running, very deserted, if the view platform to be in the hotel by the elevator on the 74 floor, the ticket 250 yuan.

  • Friends say Kaohsiung Heights in 85 this time to live in the 85 main floor Although there is no opportunity to look at the night view but often go back to look at the 85 of the floor, so how can not say that it is the landmark of Kaohsiung?

  • 85 sky tower is the tallest building of the city of Kaohsiung. The entrance to the point of view of the need to have access to the hotel charge up to 250 coins up elevator buildings 75 and walked down to the point of view of the beautiful high class 74 views. Visible to the entire town and the coast. Above there are souvenir shops and restaurants, coffee shops, Kaohsiung cities visited, then don't miss the view on this building.

  • Great view from the top of Kaohsiung! The biggest challenge is finding the right entrance to the observation platform. If you are coming from the MTR, it's the opposite corner from where you arrive. It's not the entrance to the fancy mall or the two hotels, it's a small entrance at the back of the building by a parking area. The entrance is labelled "View Gallery" on the maps around the building.
  • Great location. 10 min walk to metro & dept stores. Walking distance to 2 night markets, Kaohsiung Library, restaurants and laundromat. Awesome buffet breakfast. The only problem I have is the stained carpet, dirty & faded looking sofas and dated decor but it was very safe & comfortable. We stayed at an executive room on the 63rd floor. I heard the cheaper rooms were worse so booked the executive suit instead so my husband first time in Taiwan was a positive one. Will stay again.
  • The night view would be fabulous if you arrive there at right time (like the end of open hours on normal days) with good weather. For those fond of exploring fresh things, it would be a good chance to dominate Kaohsiung ;)
  • There are cockroaches! We can hear the sounds and noises from the neighboring rooms. The room looks good, though. But with all the noises, you can't even have a short nap.
  • I have stayed here many times. It’s an old hotel but is well kept. Some of the rooms may have the Japan Style toilets. If that’s important to you. Just saying!! Other than that the bathrooms are well stocked with all you need. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacey. There is fresh fruit everyday in the room. Some things to mention if they matter to some people. If you are used to 48” TV’s or bigger you will be disappointed. The ones in all the rooms I have rented are quite small. The main restaurant in the 39th floor is huge!. I only had breakfast there. Breakfast are catered more to the local Taiwanese clients.I have never seen oatmeal there or honey. So I bring my own. Other than that they have a huge variety of food. They make omelettes, but I have never seen them cook any other style of eggs. The gym is fairly big, however the equipment is quite old but functional. Important thing to note which I noticed at the gym. They have a water cooler, but they do not offer disposable cups. They have a few cups on a tray which I believed is shared by many people. Not very healthy. To be safe bring your own water bottle or personal cup. The staff on the front desk is very professional and courteous. Also this hotel is not part of any hotel chains like SPG , or Hilton etc. so they do not offer loyalty points. Finally, the views from the rooms are pretty cool. You get to see some great sights around the city. Enjoy your stay. Thank you!
