Tuntex 85 Sky Tower, Kaohsiung

3.4
Climb to the top of the lofty Tuntex 85 Sky Tower and enjoy panoramic views across the cityscape, watching the comings and goings of vessels in Kao port. Standing at 347.5 m (1,140 ft) high, and with a form based on the first Chinese "kanji" (character) of the city's name, the tower was the tallest structure in Taiwan until it was superseded by the Taipei 101 in 2009. Occupied by offices, a department store, and a hotel, the 44th floor of the hotel was omitted due to eastern numerical superstition, and from the 45th floor to the 83rd, the structure contains one of the highest continuous atriums in the world. Head to the 75th floor for the viewing platform, and consider a visit later in the day to take in a picturesque sunset. • 85 sky tower is the tallest building of the city of Kaohsiung. The entrance to the point of view of the need to have access to the hotel charge up to 250 coins up elevator buildings 75 and walked down to the point of view of the beautiful high class 74 views. Visible to the entire town and the coast. Above there are souvenir shops and restaurants, coffee shops, Kaohsiung cities visited, then don't miss the view on this building.

  • Once 2 years ago 101 went to the 10-minute moved made was called, but I just compared, disappointed with the difference of views by the height difference of scale. But I think it's good in this 10-night view. Also, I'm talking about someone else to rattle. Was a late night but he wasn't only about 5 pairs in all. Because people do not do reception and staff are lively but not feeling motivated me?? The entrance was like understand immediately. Ticket booth at the hotel waiter I to hear, there are by said, Oh really, not much presence was (laughs)

  • Easy-to-understand station in Kaohsiung for the first time, about 10 minutes. At the train station, go the way of parking side of the bike on the left side and get in front of the front entrance. Good vantage point. So far nice hotel quiet light rail station

  • Great location. 10 min walk to metro & dept stores. Walking distance to 2 night markets, Kaohsiung Library, restaurants and laundromat. Awesome buffet breakfast. The only problem I have is the stained carpet, dirty & faded looking sofas and dated decor but it was very safe & comfortable. We stayed at an executive room on the 63rd floor. I heard the cheaper rooms were worse so booked the executive suit instead so my husband first time in Taiwan was a positive one. Will stay again.
  • One of the best places you could imagine to watch the sunset, the building architecture is simply beautiful and the view amazing, going upstairs from the first floor took very little time because of the high speed elevator,(you should take a video once you get inside the elevator and before start going upstairs) , the best time to go is around 5pm so you can see the city during daytime and minutes later the night view, there are some volunteers whom are willing to explain to you about the city and the history of the places, they had an excellent english speaking person too, he was very kind and dedicated to what he do, the tickets are not as expensive as going to the Taipei 101, is around NTD 250 per person, but you also get a discount of of you bring your student ID card.
  • Everytime I visit Kaohsiung, I choose to stay at this hotel. The location is pretty ok though it is not adjcent to a subway station, about 5~7-minute-walk far from the nearest station. Still, this hotel is the landmark of Kaohsiung and I guess it is a pretty worth of a stay! Finally, the breakfast buffet is not so great but acceptable.
  • Nice hotel to stay in. Breakfast isn't all that great though. Try to get the harbour view. You get front row seats to sunsets!
  • This hotel is very conveniently located. It is about 8 min walk to 捷运 R8 station and 6 min walk to light rail C5 station which can take one directly to Dream Mall, Pier 2 and Sizihwan. There are also plenty of dining options around the hotel, from roadside stalls to cafes to restaurants, one will be spoilt for choices all around the clock. The hotel room is very spacious and comes with many windows to give guests a wide view of the skyline, but unfortunately the city has been shrouded in haze. Service standard is reasonable. All in all, I will recommend this hotel because it is afterall a landmark of Kaohsiung, for the same price the view it can offer is the best and its location is favourable.
