The Pier-2 Art Centre, Kaohsiung
(4.3/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
A complex of old warehouses converted into exhibition halls and artsy boutiques, The Pier-2 Art Centre houses various modern art projects in the middle of a huge abandoned industrial district. Take in the psychedelic-colored sculptures, installations, graffiti, large paintings, and other street art, and browse around the various industrial structures, including an old steam engine on display. You can also stroll along the wharf or take a mini-train tour of this post-industrial area, built in 1973. Cafes, bars, bookstores, and handicraft shops cluster in this private, university-managed center.

  • Cheese factory converted "design" stores. The government need to up it's policy to encourage real art and design activity. Not renting it to renters who pays the most rent, such as fake italian food.
  • Very relaxing place where you can see lots of art installation. Also a very good place to get some unique souvenir.
  • A very nice public space to visit and walk around with a historic feel. An old warehouse became an open space with arts and crafts.
  • Now that the godowns are used for a different purpose, it is an interesting visit for anyone wanting to learn a little of the past history and to enjoy the quaint atmosphere and environment.
  • Absolute must. Relaxing and lots of art. Good for jogging as well
