  • Made in Japan rule age old Kaohsiung station train site re-developed as a Museum and event spaces, parks, are published free of charge. At left (some charges apply) old rail and station Park to the SL and art exhibits. I think are quite permanent, mini SL long distance, if you like train and children enjoy a half-day.

  • In front of the large park contains lots of train casually. Alter, so enjoy the train than a train fan is a must.

  • The scenery here is very beautiful, with the grassland I train and train models and so on. These settings are not money, they can be used to take pictures. There's also a light rail station. There are some small shops behind the railroad museum.

  • This is good place to know the history of this district. It was originally a sea bay, and later reclaimed for seaport, and railway was built to transport goods from inland to the port and this museum tells this story. The historical items are good to have a look and the grassland outside is great for children.
  • Nearby to the art and cultural places. Lot of photo taking and artistic monuments and scupltures
  • what a great museum and a must visited location for railfaning or train lover
  • Display of the old station, with office and furnitures the way it was. Outside on old platforms, there are 4-5 old engines and some cars still sitting on tracks. Only for picture taking, not allow to climb on. Open to public, no fees. Groups of tourists were using this Takao old station as passing through from subway to the park.
  • Small museum with some historic artifacts and a few locomotives outside. Visit when exiting the mrt station (exit 2)

Where to stay in Kaohsiung

Kaohsiung caters to a range of budgets and styles in the accommodations it provides for its guests. To keep things simple and easy, take a look at the options close to Formosa Boulevard, the station where the two metro lines intersect. To the north lies the main train station, and the area has been dotted with high-rise hotels, both standard and luxurious. Backpacker-friendly hostels are never too far away in this district, while a number of traditional guesthouses can be found in the surrounding residential areas. Atmospheric, and usually budget-friendly, they provide a good option to for those wanting a side of the city other than the ultra-modern one of the central area.
