  • It is characteristic of buildings built during the occupation of Japan. Admission is free of charge. It is recommended for those who want to know the Taiwan more deeply so can know the history of Taiwan's history and things there are exhibits of the 228 incident is a place. I think the description of exhibits is Chinese and English only, so you can get a brochure of Japan at the entrance.

  • You can enter free of charge. Exhibits at least seemed to be the audio guide but could not find. I think the facilities Japan colonial period buildings. Did not seem to see other people.

  • A modest Japanese-style building on the side of the river of love there are four medium-sized exhibition houses around the history of this Kaohsiung town. There is a 228 exhibition on the second floor that describes the history of the bloody town of March 1947 at this same point, and the experience is amazing!

  • If you like history, you will love this place, it is also next to the Love river with a good view and suitable for a leisure walk. This will be great to spend half a day.
  • It is a nice place to visit. Learn a lot about Taiwan history. Love it!
  • This museum has a lot of information about kaohsioung, the exhibits are ok and not a lot in English. There is a small library for reading books about the city or for study. The gift shop is nice and there is no entrance fee.
  • Great place to read about the city history.
  • Great place to learn about Kaohsiung history, it's also free entry.

Where to stay in Kaohsiung

Kaohsiung caters to a range of budgets and styles in the accommodations it provides for its guests. To keep things simple and easy, take a look at the options close to Formosa Boulevard, the station where the two metro lines intersect. To the north lies the main train station, and the area has been dotted with high-rise hotels, both standard and luxurious. Backpacker-friendly hostels are never too far away in this district, while a number of traditional guesthouses can be found in the surrounding residential areas. Atmospheric, and usually budget-friendly, they provide a good option to for those wanting a side of the city other than the ultra-modern one of the central area.
