Where to stay in Kaohsiung

Kaohsiung caters to a range of budgets and styles in the accommodations it provides for its guests. To keep things simple and easy, take a look at the options close to Formosa Boulevard, the station where the two metro lines intersect. To the north lies the main train station, and the area has been dotted with high-rise hotels, both standard and luxurious. Backpacker-friendly hostels are never too far away in this district, while a number of traditional guesthouses can be found in the surrounding residential areas. Atmospheric, and usually budget-friendly, they provide a good option to for those wanting a side of the city other than the ultra-modern one of the central area.

  • That's a big mall. Everything from big name brand to local vendors. Also with two hotels attached, golf course near by. Don't forget the amusement park.
  • Amazing, I totally confused because of huge space. Very very various of products. All registered trademarks here
  • Very good for shopping. 30-40% Discount for all items. Also. Tax refund for tourists.
  • Impressively large. There is a shuttle bus you can take from one end to the other. I mean, really really large shopping center. Prices not that great. No clothing or shoes that a larger guy could wear (over 6 feet and 200 lbs). A mix of very expensive retailers like Gucci and Salvatore Ferragamo and regular ole Addidas, etc. Lots of stuff to do, best shaved ice I've ever had in the 4th floor food court. Fun to look around, didn't find anything to buy.
  • Many outlets. Easily accessible by local public transport.
