Where to stay in Kaohsiung

Kaohsiung caters to a range of budgets and styles in the accommodations it provides for its guests. To keep things simple and easy, take a look at the options close to Formosa Boulevard, the station where the two metro lines intersect. To the north lies the main train station, and the area has been dotted with high-rise hotels, both standard and luxurious. Backpacker-friendly hostels are never too far away in this district, while a number of traditional guesthouses can be found in the surrounding residential areas. Atmospheric, and usually budget-friendly, they provide a good option to for those wanting a side of the city other than the ultra-modern one of the central area.

  • I've visited Kaohsiung in 2008 and one of the many reasons I missed this town is the big ferris wheel on the top of the mall. It's such a unique idea and unusual design for a mall. And about the amusement park which is also located on the top, it's such an extraordinary. Children can play all the games and we can relax our mind and throw back to the past, recalling a childhood memories. What a wonderful place to visit with family and friends! I highly recommend this place to anyone who visits Kaohsiung. I got an unforgettable experience there. 😊
  • This mall has a total of about 9 floors. Floors 1-7 are for shopping with a few restaurants scattered around. B1 is the food court area, and B2 is the home goods section. While floor 8 houses the cinema and floor 9 is the roof with an outdoor amusement area, suited for families with young children. I personally love going to this mall as it is quite massive inside, and you can find just about anything you could possibly need.
  • Perfect place for family with yong children. A lot of fun places for children to burn energy. Nice food and plenty of shopping variety . Very well designed breast feeding room. If children's basin is provided in toilet, it will be better.
  • Big mall and so many escalator strategically make you walk every floor and shop shop shop! Good time to do shopping on a Friday afternoon as it's not as crowded. So many Japanese brand available here and not forgetting their signature ferry wheel on the rooftop of the mall. 🎡🎡🎡
  • Plentiful shops with large variety. Not many bargains, but what you would expect to pay at a mall. Quite crowded on weekends, especially if waiting for a seat in a restaurant.
