  • The temple is in tip top condition and they have an interesting little exhibit of historical artifacts, ritual instruments etc. alongside general descriptions of the structures of the temple. There are mostly fruit/vegetable stalls in the nearby street, so plan ahead considering food options. It takes a bit to walk around the pond, especially if you take the time to look around every temple. The Confucius Temple was my favourite, though - rest looks basically like every other temple in Taiwan, just sizes differ slightly.
  • I visited here but no one stay here at 3 pm.Why No one come here?this is good place to visit. But it takes walk from station so I recommend rental bike or bicycle.
  • It's one of two Confucian temples in Kaohsiung. This one will give you a better cultural experience because so many other sights and foods around it
  • This is one of two in Kaohsiung. Gives you a good idea about Confucius
  • Beautiful architecture. Takes about 1.5hrs to walk around lotus pond and all the other attractions. I would suggest to go later part of the day, about 4 pm when it's less hot.

Where to stay in Kaohsiung

Kaohsiung caters to a range of budgets and styles in the accommodations it provides for its guests. To keep things simple and easy, take a look at the options close to Formosa Boulevard, the station where the two metro lines intersect. To the north lies the main train station, and the area has been dotted with high-rise hotels, both standard and luxurious. Backpacker-friendly hostels are never too far away in this district, while a number of traditional guesthouses can be found in the surrounding residential areas. Atmospheric, and usually budget-friendly, they provide a good option to for those wanting a side of the city other than the ultra-modern one of the central area.
