Caishan Natural Park, Kaohsiung

Mountain Nature / Park
Go jogging or hiking among families of cheeky monkeys at Caishan Natural Park. Some call this spot the "monkey mountain" because of the big population of monkeys that roam the forest. As you explore the park, you'll almost certainly come across some of the playful primates, but approach them carefully, as they tend to snatch valuable objects from careless hikers. Other than looking out for animals, you can admire the luscious plants and trees found in this park, refreshing yourself with a drink from the many stalls along the path. After successfully climbing, enjoy the view of the city from the top of the mountain. By using our Kaohsiung trip itinerary maker, you can arrange your visit to Caishan Natural Park and other attractions in Kaohsiung.

Where to stay in Kaohsiung

Kaohsiung caters to a range of budgets and styles in the accommodations it provides for its guests. To keep things simple and easy, take a look at the options close to Formosa Boulevard, the station where the two metro lines intersect. To the north lies the main train station, and the area has been dotted with high-rise hotels, both standard and luxurious. Backpacker-friendly hostels are never too far away in this district, while a number of traditional guesthouses can be found in the surrounding residential areas. Atmospheric, and usually budget-friendly, they provide a good option to for those wanting a side of the city other than the ultra-modern one of the central area.
