Hiking Trail Nature / Park
View a narrow gorge above the Liwu River along Yanzihkou Trail, a .5 km (.6 mi) path. Between the two gorge walls the river flows rapidly, and you'll see famous rock formations. Hikers should wear a protective helmet, as some smaller rocks may fall. Along the trail, you can rest at the cafe and buy some souvenirs at the gift shop. Where to stay in Hualien County

Budget-conscious travelers in Hualien should look at the area around the main train station: densely populated, the district boasts a number of restaurants, tour operators, and cafes, along with the bulk of economical accommodations. Meanwhile, the areas around Meilunshan Park and the harbor have wider boulevards and a more relaxed, suburban feel. Here, a number of boutique hotels and some high-rises cater to those wanting a little luxury and more laid-back surroundings.
