  • Afternoon spent in the old streets of Beipu in back of Lion's Head Mountain. How to go there? Zhubei/HSR of Hsinchu station, take the bus to Shijoushan (Lion's Head Mountain, the platform take the HSR station otherwise 6a Zhubei station exit down the escalators). Small town very approachable and really sweet. We walk in the market of the after noon and miles small flat sales/sugars, fruits, dried fruits make me want to be tasted. Everything is fresh, beautiful, and the people are incredibly friendly and helpful. Behind the market stalls, one enters ' sees the old shops, tea shops that are still witnesses to the old town. Magical ride to me. I advise sample preparation of the Hakka (green drink a base of green tea, peanuts and sesame) on-site, and why not to try to prepare (after 100-150 NTD/pers for the activity). It is proposed in several places of the city, and seems to be a moment appreciated by all small like people more elderly. Note that in the streets of Beipu we feel the only European. Thank you for this warm place, these flavours and smells.
