Nature / Park
Located where the Tropic of Cancer cuts across Taiwan, the Monument of Tropic of Cancer, Chiayi is the world's 10th Tropic of Cancer marker (although it was originally built during the Guangxu Emperor's 34th year of reign before being rebuilt in 1995). The marble monument marks cultural and scientific information, defining where the equator falls and denoting other lines that portion the earth into five zones based on temperature. Consider also visiting the solar exploration center nearby, where children can engage in learning about science. Put the Monument of Tropic of Cancer, Chiayi and other Chiayi attractions into our Chiayi holiday planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

more »

  • Place for kids. There is not much to see. The solar exploration tower has some science experiments for school kids.
  • Facilities like kids of the space science will!
