Housed in Predigerkloster, a former Black Friars monastery, Zentralbibliothek Zürich serves as the city's main public library, as well as the primary library of the University of Zürich. Pause to admire the mixture of architecture styles, including an adjoining Gothic church tower, before heading in to find a quiet spot to read, work, or browse the Internet with the free Wi-Fi. • Great archive that goes more than 5 stores beneath the earth!
  • Really nice place to study.
  • Most known library and building is fantastic. Really nice!
  • the architecture alone is really fascinating. and of course as the biggest library for a few hundred km in every direction it has a certain appeal.
  • The best place to work and study, has free Internet connection (you must register the phone number, they send you a code that is worth 6 months, Swiss number) and ready. That if they do not let you pass with no bags, suitcases or backpacks must leave it all at the ticket office (work with currency of two francs, super safe) and carry only the material needed to work. On the one hand it is a good idea, so nor is there bumps everywhere. I love to work and study there.

Where to stay in Zurich

As the financial hub of the country, it shouldn't come as a surprise that staying in Zurich usually comes at a price. The city puts emphasis on its glamorous four- and five-star hotels and international chains that appeal to traveling professionals. There a handful of hostels and guesthouses for the budget-conscious traveler. When staying in Zurich, you'll find that the majority of the accommodation offerings are in close proximity to the city core, either on the left or right bank. The left bank is the glitzier of the two, with its grand restaurants, shops, and proximity to the banks and train station. The right side, as home to the Old Town, charms with its historical atmosphere. Here you'll find independently owned boutique hotels and some mid-range options. The city also sports several hotels geared toward wellness, with spas and saunas. These tend to be pricey too, but you're guaranteed a truly relaxing retreat.
